After sweeping the Fayetteville Super Regional against No.6 Arkansas, No.11 Arizona (41-13) advances to the program’s 24th appearance in the Women’s College World Series.
The Wildcats face Alabama No.3 (50-7) Thursday at 4 p.m. local time on ESPN.
Arizona was supposed to face the Crimson Tide in the Texas Classic to open the season before games were canceled due to inclement weather that resulted in the invitation being canceled.
Mike candreaThe team’s team has faced Alabama four times since the 2019 season. The two teams have split all four games, with the Wildcats winning the final two road games at Tuscaloosa in the shortened 2020 season.
Although Arizona have won the last two games, Alabama is the team that eliminated the 2019 WCWS Wildcats in a 2-0 pitching duel.
