Automotive supplier relocates 315 jobs to its new headquarters in Mesquite

An automotive products company moves its head office to Mesquite.

Vehicle Accessories Inc. plans to move 315 manufacturing jobs and its $ 13.5 million annual payroll from Sunnyvale and other locations to Mesquite.

The company will move next year to a new 310,000 square foot building near East Scyene Road and Faithon P. Lucas Sr. Boulevard.

“I cannot thank Mesquite enough for making this project a reality,” J. Person, President and CEO of Vehicle Accessories, told Mesquite City Council. “We are committed to Mesquite. It is the house.”

The company plans to consolidate its operations now located in Buffalo, NY; Toronto, Ontario; Sunnyvale and Magog, Quebec, at the new Mesquite location.

Vehicle Accessories produces a line of vehicle door edge guards, all-weather floor mats, fenders, body side moldings, bumper protectors and door sills.

The products are sold for Toyota, Lexus, Ford, Subaru, Nissan, Infiniti, Honda, General Motors and Chrysler vehicles.

Vehicle accessories will be moved to the new business park at the Alcott logistics station from developer Urban Logistics Realty. The industrial development that was approved by Mesquite in May is expected to include more than 2 million square feet of warehouse space.

Developer Jackson Shaw Industrial will construct the vehicle accessories building.

“We chose Mesquite for this project because of the professionalism and desire of the city to complete all of this core development,” said Michael Flowers, vice president of development at Jackson Shaw Industrial.

The town of Mesquite provided economic incentives for the project.
