Maroon & Gold will take part in the Sunflower Invitational tomorrow

MINNEAPOLIS- The University of Minnesota women’s golf team begins the Sunflower Invitational tomorrow. The two-day tournament will run from October 17 to October 18.

The Sunflower Invitational begins at 8:00 a.m. CT on October 17 with two consecutive rounds of golf. The final round will also begin at 8 a.m. CST on October 18.

Line up:
First-year student Luisamariana Mesonesfirst-year student Isabelle McCauleySenior Emma CharpentierSenior Grace Curranand senior Lea Herzog will represent the Maroon & Gold.

The Gophers will face Arizona, Boston College, BYU, Iowa, Kansas, Kent State, Nebraska, New Mexico State, Notre Dame, Sam Houston, Texas San Antonio, Tulane, Washington State and Wisconsin.

The lesson:
The event will take place at the Lawrence Country Club. The newly renovated course was named by Golf Digest as one of the best renovated courses in the region following a complete overhaul that ensured the course was challenging yet welcoming for all levels of play. Lawrence Country Club the honor of hosting the Women’s Big 12 Golf Championship in 2012.

Look forward:
The Sunflower Invitational is the last tournament scheduled for the fall season. The Gopher Women’s Golf Team will open their spring season with Nexus Collegiate in New Providence, Bahamas, February 13-15.
