The Montreal Canadiens have announced that Jean FranÃ§ois Houle is the new head coach of the Laval Rocket.
Houle has spent the past six years as an assistant coach in the American Hockey League. The 46-year-old was also previously the head coach of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada where he was replaced by JoÃ«l Bouchard, who was then general manager of the team. He also has NCAA coaching experience.

He also has playing experience and was a draft pick for the Canadiens in 1993. He has played almost 300 career games in the ECHL and AHL.
