Mouka keeps name after $60 million acquisition

Mouka, a local maker of mattresses and other bedding products, kept its brand name after a $60 million acquisition by a Moroccan company, Dolidol.

The acquisition in December 2021 changed ownership of the business, emphasizing that the partnership is a win-win for both parties.

Speaking at an event in Lagos over the weekend, Managing Director Mr Femi Fapohunda explained that the name change was not a condition of the acquisition.

“The brand name remains but later we can see a gradual integration of the name as part of the Dolidol Group International.”

The company also rewarded its loyal business partners with various prizes such as tricycles, air conditioners and televisions.

The MD said: “Mouka’s success story that spans over 63 years would not have been possible without your hard work and dedication. Our ability to maintain the leading position in the sleep industry in Nigeria would not have been possible without you (business partners).

The company’s Chief Commercial Officer, Director Dimeji Osingunwa, also unveiled a new program for business partners to win trips to exotic destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Marrakech in Morocco and Zanzibar in Tanzania after reaching their sales target. from July to December 2022. .

A South West business partner and beneficiary, Mufutau Owolabi, said the relationship with Mouka has been cordial, mutually beneficial and rewarding. He praised the company for its immense support over the years.

Another recipient, Ismaila Amusa, noted that Mouka has added value to his business through similar awards which have had a positive impact on his business.
