MP’s Home Secretary condemns Ashram vandalism, opposes name of web series

Madhya Pradesh Home Secretary Narottam Mishra condemned the vandalism of the filming of a web series directed by Prakash Jha in Bhopal, saying four people were arrested in the case.

However, Narottam Mishra objected to the title of the “Ashram” web series, claiming that it hurts the feelings of the people.

“The attack is not the correct mode of protest and four people have been arrested, but I also oppose Ashram’s name because it hurts the feelings, so we will soon post a notice for the shooting of such films in MP, ”Narottam Mishra said. .

On Sunday, members of the right-wing group Bajrang Dal reportedly ransacked the web series set and dumped ink on its producer-director Prakash Jha.

He added that the administration will now have to obtain permission to shoot by submitting the content of the film.

“If there are any objectionable scenes that may hurt religious feelings, filming will only be allowed after those scenes are deleted,” Mishra said.

Filming for the third season of “Ashram” was taking place at Old Jail’s premises in the Arera Hills area of Bhopal when Bajrang Dal workers began damaging vehicles there on Sunday.

Although no one was injured, militants damaged some vehicles, police said.

Even as Mishra greeted those who were shooting in Madhya Pradesh, he urged people not to hurt religious feelings.

Bajrang Dal provincial official Sushil said Prakash Jha would have to change the name of the series, otherwise they would not allow the filming of “Ashram” in Bhopal.

Sushil claimed that Prakash Jha promised to change the name of the web series.

Echoing similar views, Mishra said, “I am also in favor of a name change. Why only the name Ashram? Why don’t they try to keep another name?
