‘My Name’ Han So-hee in talks to join K-drama with ‘Squid Game’ Wi Ha-joon

Squid game actor Wi Ha-joon has joined the cast of upcoming K drama series K Project (working title), who could also star My name.

Earlier today (November 18), JTBC reported that Wi was cast in the next series, citing an anonymous industry representative. The Squid game Actor’s agency MSTeam Entertainment subsequently confirmed the news in a statement to Sport today, adding that “the exact details are being worked out”, as translated by Soompi.

Project K is set to be a thriller series set in an alternate dystopian reality where young people have their sovereignty and their rights as human beings are taken against their will. The series will be written by Kang Eun-kyung, who was behind the Dr Romantic series, and should be carried out by League of stoves director Jung Dong-yoon.

Wi will play the character of Tae-sang’s best friend, Kwon Joon-taek, who was born into a wealthy family but resents his pro-Japanese family. Bonding with Tae-sang on the principle of feeling left out, the two become close friends.

During this time, My name star Han So-hee is said to be in talks to join the series, according to a June report from News. At the time, her company 9ato Entertainment said the actress had “Han So Hee received a casting offer for [K Project] and examine [the offer]”.

Itaewon To classifyPark Seo-joon has also reportedly been in talks to join the cast since May, although there has been no news of his casting since.

Project K would begin filming in January of next year. Apart from the next one Project K, Wi Ha-joon has another project premiering on December 17th titled Bad and crazy.

The actor saw his role of escape as Detective Hwang Jun-ho in Netflix’s World Hit Squid game, which currently has a second season in the works.
