Record shooter Winters set to join the chants

CONWAY, South Carolina – shooting guard Carly Winters of Young Harris College will join Coastal Carolina women’s basketball team for 2022-23 season, head coach says Kevin Pederson announcement.

The 5’7″ fullback played three seasons at Young Harris where she became the all-time three-point shooter in program history with 185 three-point field goals. Winters only needed only 66 games to set the new benchmark for a long time – ranged shooters for the Mountain Lions.

“We are very happy to see Carly in Teal & Bronze! She gives us a top shooter with a lot of game experience and great range,” Pederson said. “She’s a hard worker with a high basketball IQ. I think she’ll be a great addition to our growing Coastal family.”

The Gainesville, Georgia native was second on the team in scoring last season, averaging 11.8 points with a career-high 28 points against Shorter on Nov. 23, 2021. The Sharpshooter at long-range finished fifth in the Peach Belt Conference with a .346 three-point field goal percentage and led the league with 2.9 three-pointers per game.

Throughout his time at Young Harris College, Winters averaged 11.4 points per game while shooting .367 from three-point range. The shooter also grabbed 3.41 rebounds per game while assisting her teammates 113 times
