Snoochie Shy is one of 10 stars to join the series I’m a celebrity… get me out of here!
The 29-year-old – who is a DJ for BBC Radio 1Xtra – will join fellow contestants Richard Madeley and Danny Miller at Gwrych Castle this week.
Shy – real name Cheyenne Davide – started her late night slot 1Xtra in 2019. She will be following in the footsteps of BBC Radio 1 DJ Jordan North, who was the finalist for last year’s series.
Speaking of her concerns upon entering the show, she said, “My mom keeps laughing because she knows I’m such a scary cat!
“Bugs and I are not friends, I don’t like heights and I’m claustrophobic.”
Shy added, however, that she was eager to participate in the trials.
“They’re all crazy,” she said, saying the trial she dreaded the most was “anything involving a coffin and creepy critters.”
The DJ said she was also nervous about not wearing makeup on the show, which means the birthmark on her cheek will be visible in public for the first time.
“It has been an insecurity for me in the past, but I’m also excited to face it,” she said.
Shy said people might be surprised to learn that she is “actually a pretty shy person when I’m out of my comfort zone.”
When asked what her role might be in the camp, she replied, “I love twerking on a Friday night and I’m going to teach everyone how to do it at the castle.
I am a celebrity starts on ITV at 9 p.m. on Sunday, November 21.
