The £14.99 Aldi vodka that beat the big brands costs twice as much for the ‘best in the world’

Vodka lovers need look no further than supermarket chain Aldi, whose own brand of vodka was named winner of the 2022 World Vodka Awards. Once again, Aldi’s liquor aisle has has been hailed for its superior product line that has consistently won national accolades.

After winning awards nationally for its gin, Aldi has now won a prize at the 2022 World Vodka Awards. Saint Gérmont Premium Vodka won gold for the UK in the Pure Neutral category of the Spirit Awards.

The award-winning vodka is just £14.99

Aldi’s Saint Gérmont Premium Vodka beat branded vodkas and edged out Masons of Yorkshire Classic Vodka, Assay Vodka and Misty Isle Vodka to win the gold award for 2022 nominations. The bottle, on sale at Aldi, features also high-end Vodka without breaking the bank since the vodka only costs £14.99 for a 70cl bottle.

The news comes as the supermarket chain reintroduces Saint Gérmont Premium Raspberry Vodka which is a spin-off of their popular neutral vodka. The vodka is distilled five times to make it as pure as possible and is created in the heart of France.

Compared to competitors, Aldi’s vodka was much cheaper, with some vodkas ranking below Saint Gérmont Premium Vodka in the awards costing more than double Aldi’s offer price.

Aldi recently won the ‘Best Spirits Supermarkets 2022’ award at the People’s Choice Awards and has been known for its stellar range of spirits for many years.

In 2017, Aldi’s £9.97 Oliver Cromwell London Dry Gin won a gold medal at the International Wine and Spirits Competition, proving the supermarket is no wonder when it comes to spirits.

The budget supermarket also won first place in the “Supermarket Branded Spirits Range of the Year” category at the International Spirits Festival.
